Can front rotors fit on the rear?? 850 1997

this may be a dumb idea, but here goes: I want to install slotted rotors from EBC and SS Braided brake lines too on the front. since my current vented brembos are only 1 yr old and in very good condition I thought it may be nice to have those in the rear and toss the standard rears which is over 3 yrs old. So, can this be done? will the front rotors fit the rear. I also have 17x8, so clearance should not be an issue, right?? Please share your wisdom/ideas on this.... BD
