After driving a GM rental car the other day (yuch!), I noticed a significant difference in brake pedal travel upon returning to my 850. This may have sneaked up on me, but the 850's pedal really travels before the brakes engage. Also, I often hear a "squish" sound in the cabin when the pedal is depressed. I haven't noticed a drop in ultimate breaking power, and the pedal travel is consistent every time.
Is this a possible master cylinder problem? (I haven't heard much about problematic Volvo MC's). Is it air in the lines? Am I imagining something that's normal for Volvos?
