Hi,
I've been reading this site for a while as i discovered it after buying a used 1997 850 Wagon SE. Boy, what a step up from my Civic :) I am really impressed with the amount of help everyone gives and receives.
Here is my problem, while sitting in the passenger seat the other day (a rare occurance) I noticed a shaking noise coming from the right front wheel well when i went over small bumps in the road. After taking off the wheel, I narrowed the noise down to the inner brake pad rattling inside the caliper and against the disc. I know that the pads were just replaced about a month before i purchased the car and i don't know what type they are. I've been told they are PBR's (mine have a red backing plate). Also there is quite a lot of anti-squal on the backing as well. I was curious if anyone knows if the inner and outer pads are the same size and shape, because i noticed mine look exactly the same but it seems that the inner pad doesn't seem to fit as tightly as the outer pad. In fact there is about 1/8 of an inch of play in all directions i can rattle the pad. Is this normal? This I also think is the cause of my brakes to squeal during light braking.
Some help on this subject would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in Advnace,
geoff.
