FWIW - Just Gave my A/C a Little Tune Up 850

With all the talk of Summer Heat and A/C problems , here my story:

My 1995 850 Turbo "uses" a little R-134a. Five years after the evaporator was replaced under warranty (thank goodness) I had to add about a pound of R-134a.
That was about 2 years ago.

The other day I noticed a little frost blowing out my ac vent. Although cooling adequately, my first thought was- low freon.

Off to Walmart I went and picked up a 5.5 ounce can of Interdynamics "Direct Charge R-134a Tune Up"(Part Number: TUP-134DC).

It was easy to inject:
1) Locate the low pressure valve which is behind the passenger side headlight and has a cap that sais 6nm (or something).
2) Shake the can for about a minute
3) Start the car and put the ac on max cool
4) Push the dispenser on the top of the can down firmly and in a few secs your done.

My vent temperatures in 90 + F Houston was consistently between 38 to 41 F.

Nice and chilly the way I like it.

Incidently, my Low Port pressure reading with the engine running and ac on was about 25 PSI after the little tune up injection.

No need in my case to increase the pressure any more.
