Trip meter & Odometer 850 1994

I have a 94 850 Turbo. I had it work done on the cruise control vacuum line which was demaged from battery acid. About 700 miles later the odometer and the trip meter have stopped rolling. Do the meters have any connection with the cruise control? Anything I should check before sending my car to a shop?

I have Haynes Repair Manual, but I didn't find any on odometer or trip meter.
