ECU Upgrade & IPD Exhaust Woth It? S70 1998

Ok here's the deal. I want more performance out of my S70 T5 Automatic, and I want to keep it simple. My primary concern is reliability. Has anyone had any troubles with the ECU from IPD? If so, what are the problems you have encountered? Further, after buying an upgrade were there any additional costs that were unexpected?

This is obviously an expensive endeavor and I would like to get all the insight I can prior to laying down the cash. Plus, I don't want to have to put down an additional cash for unexpected problems e.g. transmission, turbo problems, electrical problems, etc, etc. I really want the upgrade, but I also want my car to last as long as the bank owns it.
