Remove rear anti-sway bar on a S70??

Has anyone ever driven a S70 or 850 with the rear anti-sway bar off? I just removed the bar(actually removed the two bolts from the driver side)to see what effect it would have on handling. To my surprise, under average or non aggressive driving, cornering was not significantly affected. However, the "bone jarring ride" was significantly reduced when going over expansion joints, ruts, potholes, etc. I got the idea when driving on the NY State Thruway the other day and observing that most of the harshness seems to come from the rear suspension. I noticed that Ford removed the rear anti-sway bar from the Taurus in 1999--probably to reduce cost but perhaps to provide a better ride. Don't know if I will keep it off, but it may be an option for those who can't tolerate the harsh ride.
