ODOMETER PROBLEMS 850 1996

I had my odometer replaced recently under VIP warranty at 78,000 miles, the dealer ordered a pre-set odometer ,when they installed it ,the numbers are not lined up the same as the original one,I can see the tops of the next number that is coming up next.Should I bring it back to the dealer and have it replaced? or will the unit eventually fix itself?? The calibration appears to be off slightly. I asked the tech that installed it and he said it only goes in one way and he can't adjust it.
Has anyone ever experianced this ????
