Forgot have another question about my new T5. I did not want the 17" low profile tires so part of my full vehicle order was that it must have the standard tires for a T5. Well the T5 standard rim/tire is the Metis with tire size 215/55/R16. However when I went to pick up the vehicle my husband was there for part of the transaction but left to get back to work. After he left we were going over the car and I noticed the wheels were that of the 2.4T (Mimas tire size 205/55/R16). I pointed to them and asked my salesman and he said I requested 16" tires and that 17" is standard on the T5. My reply was I requested what is standard on the T5 (which is not 17") and not to have the 17" rims. I pointed out that the 2.4T rims are cheaper and to get the standard T5 rims on a 2.4T that is a $212 invoice price option (I know some of you dislike the Metis rims but I just wanted the standard rim). So I said I would discuss this with my husband and see what we want to do. I am assuming since I said the color and packages I desired were not negotiable that they found a match but it had the 17" rims so they thought they should just swap tires with a 2.4T to get 16", but I am not sure what happened.
So my question is, would there be any risk (due to larger brakes or anything) to have the 2.4T rims and wheels on the T5? Aside from the price difference, a main concern of mine is that these rims/tires not cause some sort of problem down the road or in handling. Is there any noticable difference between the 215/55/R16 and the 205/55/R16.
Thanks for any advice,
dgriffith
