second generation/depowered airbags

What is the first year that Volvo started using these? I know that Ford, Toyota, etc., started putting them in cars beginning with the 1998 model year. Probably not as big a deal with Volvos as it is with many other (cheaper) cars where the airbags are set to go off at lower speeds.
