Brake pedal travel S70 1998

Hi folks. I purchased a 98 S70 GLT from my father this past weekend. I drove it from Dallas to Saint Paul and really enjoyed the car (quiter and smoother than my 850 Turbo, but younger as well). The only thing "off" about the car is that the master cylinder seems to have an incredibly long stroke. The brake pedal feels more like a clutch in that it travels four to five inches before any braking takes place. I can feel the vaccum boost kick in towards the top of the travel, and when it final "engages" it is firm and the car stops. The pedal returns to the top when released, but pumping does not reduce the travel. The travel is longer than any car I've ever driven.

I think this could be several things:
1) air in the lines
2) master cylinder
3) ABS Servo???
4) other brake part I don't know about

There aren't any fluid leaks and there is brake fluid. The car is under Volvo certified used car warranty until November. Any experience with this or thoughts on how I should approach it?

Thanks,
Dave
