Help on buying an 850 850

I am thinking about buying an 850. Is there any year(s) or features that I should avoid for mechanical or electrical reasons? Is the turbo system reliable? What about ABS brakes? Are they dependable, and are parts readily available? Is the auto tranny solid, or should I stick to manual? Did they make many manual transmission models?
