What's the Going Rate for an Evaporator Replacement ? 850

Looks like I am facing the dreaded A/C Evaporator replacement.

My Volvo indy quotes $1,200 and the dealership in Houston quotes $1,585.

How do these rates compare to other member's experiences?

BTW- the dealership tells me they are replacing 850 evaporators "right and left" every day.
