gasolene smell coming from A/C

I have 1994 850 with 146,000. Whenever I start the a/c if car engine is cold, I get strong gasoline odor. It disappears after awhile. I took it to both an independent and dealer but neither seems to have an answer. Both put new parts on it, however. The lastest was the dealer who suggested a leak in fuel injector that burns off after engine has been going awhile. Does this make sense to anybody?
