I bought my 850 turbo wagon mainly because of it's looks and Volvo's reputation for reliability. The car had 110,000 miles on it and everyone I asked said it should be good for another 100-200 thousand. I bought it and drove the car 80 miles and the transmission started slipping in all gears. I shut the car off and let it sit. A few minutes and a few tries later, it worked long enough to get home. The Volvo dealer put a new(factory rebuilt) transmission in it, to the tune of $2,000. I drove the car another 2,000 miles and the same thing just happened all over again. Before I have them fix it again (at least it's under warranty), is there anyone out there who knows of something else that could be causing the transmission to slip and ruin it? Is it possible I just got a bad rebuild? Should I just let them fix it and trade it in? I like the car and hate to get rid of it but I want a family car I can trust to take the family away in. Please help restore my faith in the Volvo name. Any advice is much appreciated. P.S.- I believe the code from socket A-1 is 232.
Thanks,
D.C.G.
