PS.........IF I O END UP CHANGING THE EVAP, DO I NEED ANY SPECIAL TOOLS OTHER THAN USUAL (SOCKETS - SPANNERS - BIG HAMMERS!!).
I MEAN DOES THE EVAP NEED ANYTHING SPECIAL TO REMOVE IT FROM ASSOCIATED PIPE WORK.
THANKS,
K
PPS.......SHOULD I ALSO CHANGE THE DRYER??
So yet more problems with my 855!! Well, tonight Ive just stripped down the cd multi-changer - yet again - because the casette wouldn't eject - and I can't even go for a drive with the a/c on to cool down!!
I had my system recharged approx 3 months ago. All was fine - btw, the climate is permanently set on around 17 - 19 degrees. About 1 month after recharge, the a/c off and rec lights flashed (on and off for about a week) - but a/c worked fine. Cant fault code (the same way I could my old 900s etc) as has OBD11 by gear lever, and I dont have the equipment - only a service reset tool.
Now suddenly, a/c is blowing not as cold as it did, and is recycling very quickly.
Same firm who recharged said charge was low, re-gassed it and entered a dye, then used ultra violet light (or whatever it is) to look for leak, which he couldn't find - a/c actually blowing ok for now - he suggested re-check for leaks in about a week when dye had gone 'round more' - says probably very small leak just started - says can view under the ultra violet light the condensation coming out of drain pipe under car to determine if evap is leaking.
Is the evap the most common cause of leaks? Any mileage in system sealers - I live in UK btw.
How difficult is DIY replacement? I would really only contemplate replacement if I could do myself.
Maybe I'll do it after I've fixed the door check strap - no greasing - need to weld the pillar!!!
Thanks,
Kevin
