I just got the V70 (as yet nameless) back from the dealer. They had it for three days, and we had a loaner V70, an 01, but with lower miles and lots more stuff than ours.....The complaint was that the clutch hydraulics leaked down to the point where the car could not be put into gear, and the pedal had to be pried off the floor with a toe. A new master cylinder has been installed, the dealer told my wife that master cylinder failures have been known to occur, and the factory replaces them. I have no idea if I got another 30K mile disposable part or not, but oh well. The dealer also replaced the burnt out headlight, the headlight that hadn't burnt out yet, and installed a wiring update to prevent the lights from frying themselves in the future. I had innocently thought that the problem had been cured in the 01s. Sigh.
