Is my transmission mode switch [Winter/Sport/Econo] broken? 850

Hi,

I think the previous owner spilled coke or something similar to the transmission mode switch so that I was only able to get it to work only once since I have my car. It doesn't even make any difference when I change between Econo and Sport mode. I have no error codes read from both A1 & A2 sockets. Do you think changing it would make a difference or do you have any recommendations to try and clean the contacts on the switch? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
