Manual Trans Leak???? 850 1995

Hi everyone

I am in the process of purchasing 850 T5 1995, and the pre purchase inspection suggests that the two possible causes of the leak on the bottom of the gearbox(manual)could be the rocker cover gasket or the rear main seal(volvo dealer). I have read that the rear main seal has caused poroblems in the past, but is it likely to cause the gearbox leak? There doesn't appear to be any leaks from the rear main seal, as from what I understand is that if it leaks you will definiteyly know about it. Any suggestions???? or is the dealer trying to cost me $$$$$$$$$ ???
