Hi
I have a 1995 850 Turbo and noticed that my coolant level has dropped below the "min" mark on the reservoir. I wanted to add coolant but I paused because our other car, a volkswagen, requires a special coolant (G12 I think) which can be purchased only at the VW dealer. So I looked through the volvo owner's manual and discovered that Volvo recomments a "authorized volvo antifreeze". The downside of all of this is that my wife owned the car before we got married and she has a bottle of Preston in the back of the trunk. So I'm not sure what kind of antifreeze is actually in the system now (it is green), which means I don't know if adding Volvo antifreeze to what is in there will hurt. So my questions are these:
1. Is the volvo antifreeze any different from the other antifreeze?
2. Can I add volvo antifreeze in the system now safely and potentially mix it with another antifreeze?
3. Should I just for a piece of mind, just have the whole system flushed and replace it with volvo antifreeze?
