Does my stereo have an amplifier? 850 1995

1995 850 turbo wagon SC-811 has 8 speakers, stock volvo 6 disc changer in rear.
Both front seats are power and have no amplifiers hiding under them. I removed the knee bolster and looked back there. I removd the deck from the dash and looked there. I looked back near the spare tire and third seat. I am puzzled. My first wagon '84 240 dl 200k R.I.P. had a "booster" amplifier. With this new stereo and 8 speakers filling the wagon I would think there would be an amplifier somewhere. The front channels are intermittingly cutting out. I am troubleshooting this and need to find the amplifier.
Somebody offered advice earlier on the list about resoldering soemthing to fix similar problem. Can somebody help me find this elusive amplifer?
