Tire Noise

I have a new S80 ... a very quiet car. However, the tires seem very loud at high speeds on the interstate or on rough pavement. I have factory tires
(Michelin Pilots), and several sites rates these tires as very quiet. I cannot believe that from the experience with my car. Has anyone had experience with tire noise? Is there a remedy? A recommendation for another tire brand? Thanks
