Nearing end of warranty.... what to look for? S80 2000

I'm approaching the end of my 50,000 mile warranty on my 2000 S80 T6. Any tips on what to have checked before I go over mileage? Any 'magic' words to say to have dealer check it thoroughly?

I hear a slight whine on acceleration and some hesitation/surge immediately after cold start - but nothing else to complain about. Still have orignal tires at 49k (need to be replaced now) and brakes lasted to 45k so I don't drive this car very hard at all.

If I buy this car, any tips on negotiating down the residual? Will Volvo finance it at reasonable rate?
