any way to retrofit an older awd system with the nu haldex clutch system V70-XC70

I know the awd system kinda got redesigned so can you retrofit the older like 98awd system with the new system ..the tech at volvo told me that it now has a clutch for the rear wheels which should help with the bevel gear problem ..which I havent had yet ....95k and still going
