S70 AWD Transmission and Idle problems S70

S70 problems. AT locked in 3rd gear. Dealer, after saying systems not communicating with each other, now says car has bad Transmission Control Module, about $550 bill. Check engine light also on, with surging idle speed. Dealer says bad throttle control, about $750, plus $160 to diganose both. Any advise? Car is 1999 AWD S70 with 58k miles.
