I bought my 1997 850 GLT Wagon about 6 months ago and I am noticing a lot of static on my AM reception. The radio is an SC-811. I have checked the power connection and the antenna connection making sure they were solid.

I have noticed that if I turn the fan on (just past low) or depress the brake pedal the static will subside. I don't remember this problem when I initially got the car and am wondering if something was changed when I brought it into the Volvo dealer for some routine maintenance. (I am leary on returning since they charge $40 just to look at an item and I can't be positive that it happened after their servicing. They are also not the best to deal with!) Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks...
