How hard to change front drive axle ? S70 1998

Has anyone had trouble with a whining sound from right side drive axle assembly center support bearing or joint? Cost of repair at most shops $1000-$1200 dollars. Found part, complete axle assy, for $125 dollars,how much trouble is it to change yourself.
