Hi guys, the winter is about to approach here in Bavaria,
first days with wet slippery leaves on the road have passed,

there is a question puzzling me:

on wet slippery road, driving my 855 awd 9/96 (without trailer)up a steep road, the front wheels spin so much, a steering is hardly possible ( if one accelerates).TRACS is ON

My lady will use the car to pull a trailer up this hill to our house, hoping the awd to do its job,also in winter and snow.

actually, I had expected that with an awd, spinning wheels would be impossible, due to the awd switching in, as soon as there is a difference in the wheel revolutions back and front. It does not matter, if I drive over 40km/h (where the differential is described to be switching off,) or not, the spinning stays the same.

As the fore owner violated the car with a heavy trailer strongly, the rubber bearing under the bonnet, holding the motor stable, is broken, maybe there are other ruined components as well?? ( I can not understand, why the awd behaves so strange!)

How can I find out more about it?
can the visco clutch be checked for function and correct oil volume?
what oil is used in there?
Does somebody know, if any other components in the awd can cause an awd failure
such as described??

I have a double post jack to lift and examine the car.
