American Turbos?

Hello everyone,
Do you guys think European when you think about turbos? Saab, Porche, Volvo, Audi, VW, etc.... No Fords? The only American Turbo I've seen was a 3.8 litre Regal turbo and this guy had it up to close to 700 HP!! But that's about it. Why?
And another question is why BMW doesn't make a turbo engine in the US.

Thanks everyone, I know this isn't a post about maintenance but this is the only place where someone would know the answer to this question. Thanks for your patience.
