Is my car possessed, or is it just the battery??!! 850 1997

I'm driving a 97 GLT with about 85k on the odo.

Note: All of this weirdness began once it started raining for the first time in 6 months here in San Diego.

Last night (raining) when I started my car, all the lights went on in the dash (i.e. coolant, battery, abs/tracs etc..), kinda weird I thought. They went away in a few seconds and I was off and running. I went out with my buddies, no problems except the alternator whine that I usually hear through the speakers was abnormally loud and bold. I was driving home when all of the sudden my radio lights dimmed until my radio turned itself off.
I then got to my exit on the freeway and when I began to signal for my lane change the SRS and ABS lights started blinking in conjunction to my signal blinkers!!! At this point I started to believe my car was possessed. I pressed my highbeams to see what would happen and other dash warning lights came on in conjunction with my highbeams. As I got to the top of the hill my car slowly putted to a dead cold stop as the engine died. The lights were all dim and it seems that the battery is dead. Now, could it be the alternator? Is there a wiring mishap? Could the rain have caused this? Please help! My car is parked at a gas station near my house I she misses me!! Where do I start?
