Synthetic oil change! 850 1993

I been using the Valvoline synthetic oil on a six months oil change interval. Today, I notice that my local store is carrying Amsoil for 2 dollars more and a oil change interval of up to a year. Would you make the switch to the Amsoil and save the extra oil change and probaly just replacing the oil filter at the six months period. We only put betwenn 5,000-7,000 miles per year.
