minimum wheel size V70-XC70 2001

I have a 2001 V70 2.4T. I wanted to purchase used volvo snow tires on 15 inch rims but volvo said they would not fit due to larger brakes on the 01. Yesterday I was at Volvo and noticed a new V70 with 15 inch wheels. Does the V70 and 2.4T have different size brakes. Can 15 inch wheels fit on a 2001 V70 2.4T??
