Engine stalls 850 1994

The engine of my 850 suddenly stalls with "check engine" lamp on. It happens very intermittently and I can't figure out what the culprit is. I cleaned all the contact points of the fuses in the hood, and it seemed it solved the problem for a while, but it suddenly comes back. It happens when running or idling. Sometimes it stalls completely and I have to re-start the engine. Sometimes, the engine stalls just for a second as if the engine is "coughing" and "check engine" lamp is lit for a second as well. Does anybody have this same experience?
