850 wagon rear latch not grabbing pin 850

The latch on my '94 850 wagon's rear hatch isn't grasping the pin mounted to the body. Seem like the clasp has gone limp. Can the mechanism be removed and cracked open? Does it function by spring or something else? Any on-line suppliers?
