After an infuriating experience at my local shop where they charged me $60 to read my Check Engine Light code and then not have the test procedure to fix what the computer told them was wrong, I recently purchased a scan tool capability and can reset '96 and '97 service lights and read computer codes (check engine lights, etc.).
