SIPS S70 1998

I was given nice sheepskin seatcovers for my 1998 S70. While installing, I saw decal on B-pillar re the SIPS side protections system. The system is mounted to the seat frame & deploys thru the original (leather) upholstery seam.
This presents major dilemna. Is it possible to get seatcover to work with the SIPS? Does this mean that seats can not be safely re-upholstered? What is appropriate? Thanx for advice.
