Check Engine Light On 850 1995

Hi..Yesterday I noticed my CE light was on after driving down my driveway.
We had just shoveled 6in of snow and I think I may have hit the winter mode button when I had trouble at the end of driveway, but not sure ..dang buttons are so close to each other. I read the threads here about the gas cap and checked it immediatly, it appeared to be ok, but not sure just how tight it actually was. The car seems to be running fine, do you think I should just watch it and maybe it will go out after a few start ups or what?
