This the second time in less than a year that my cruise control has failed to work.

Both times it has been the same problem. The vacuum line running under the battery tray has had one or more holes in it.

Is electrolyte leaking from the battery? The case appears intact and I see no residue on the tray.

It's a cheap and easy fix. But, I'd like to know what's causing this and how to prevent it.
