Driver's Seat Replacement?

My seat heater was broken and through a torn seam in the leather, which was there anyways, I saw a scorching damage to the foam pad. I've heard this probably means a short or failure of the actual heating pad. Is this true? How much estimate would replacement cost? And considering I have a burst seam, a broken heater, and a inoperable power seatback all in the same seat, do you think I could save money just replacing the whole seat?
