S70 T5 Vacuum lines disconnected - where do they go?

My 98 S70 T5 Automatic has two disconnected vacuum lines that appear to have once been connected to a small electrical switch.

The line begins just past the air filter, on the bottom of the main air intake tube. It has a green stripe, and is about 10" long. There's a broken plastic tip in the other end. Its just hanging straight down over the transmission, near the throttle body.

There is also another green stripe hose of the same size that enters a location I can't see at the "rear" of the engine (over the tranny). It also has a broken plastic tip in it.

In the same area, there is a small (1") black electrical switch dangling at the end of the wire harness. It looks like the plastic tips came off this, and that maybe it was attached to the back of the air cleaner box at one time.

Anybody know what these are? I think it may have something to do with the auto climate control, because the fan speed is erratic, but maybe the two are unrelated.

Thanks.
