New car purchase - Volvo? 850 1995

I think I've had it with my 850. It's a 95 Turbo that costs me about $300-400 per month in repairs. You name it and I've had it done. I'm tired of the constant visits to the shop. I figure that I could own a new car for that price and I won't have to worry about constantly taking the car in.

On the other hand I have an 96 850 thats been a dream. So what's a guy to do?

I'd like to know what the reliability of the new S60 is compared to the 850. Will I have the same problems? Or should I look into another car to suit my needs - BMW, Audi, Saab, VW? How reliable/expensive are they to maintain?

I really love the feel of the Volvo and the safety factor(I'm part of the Saved my Life club from my old/dead 85 240), but I'm just tired of taking the car to be fixed every month.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
