CU Brake Code 850

The ABS amber light on my dash has been lit for a while. The code on the A3 socket is 3-1-4. Several mechanics have mentioned this could be a bad CU.

I see on the Haynes repair manual that it is a shorted or open sensor.

I welcome any helpful and candid tips. Thanks,
