Strange oil observation V70-XC70 1998

In checking my oil recently after the dealer did an oil change, I noticed an extreme amount of white sludge on the dipstick. As if there is excessive moisture in the crankcase or dipstick tube. Also I noticed the the handle was broken off of the dipstick although I doubt if the 2 are related. Has anyone else seen this before?
