Anyone checked under the carpeting? 850 1994

About a week ago I began hearing a bolt or like object roll around under the "floorboards", pretty anoying to say the least. First of all, what type of compartment is under the carpeting i.e. sealed with pressboard-type material that I'd have to rip up, etc? I have localized the bolt(?) to the the vacinity of the drivers seat area. Do I just remove the drivers seat and pull the carpet up? Do I have to worry about screwing up anything like SIPS (Haynes manual speaks briefly about this). Any help would be fantastic. Thanks guys. -Stu. 1994 854t
