Transmission 99 XC V70-XC70

I posted earlier this week about the Viscous Coupling issue with my 99 XC. I am now told that the AUD5,000 part is not needed, they flushed the transmission with 30 litres of oil and magically the noise has gone. The noise was as follows. Drive on the freeway at about 85kmh, back off gently and let the car free whell for about 3 seconds, gently apply power without a gear change and 2 seconds after this re application of power, there is a thud, like one has run over a road join or a single cats eye. My mechanic that services my 928 S4 has driven the car and has said, that since I have been told this, that it seems un characteristic of an auto tranny problem. I have seen some posts that have talked about the 60K thump in trannies, is this a known thing. The dealer told me today that they have not heard of this, there is no Volvo TSB on this and that they have notified Volvo of this anomoly that they discovered in my car today. I would love to think that I have discovered something for Volvo, but this car is 4 years old and the cars have been on the road since 97. Any comments. If someone has anything to say, I would be happy to take a reverse charge call to my mobile +61 417 133 229, or personal email

Thanks

I feel that Volvo are trying to get me to give them back the brand new 2003 XC they have given me as a looan car 3 weeks ago. Also, they have offered me a 12 month warranty on all drive-train components for the next 12 months - unconditionally
