Experiences with Manual Boost controllers 850 1995

Anyone have the Dawes device? I was thinking of chipping my 850 Turbo but the price is driving me away. The Dawes device looks to be a good way to increase boost on a budget. Anyone have any good/bad experiences with it? My '95 850 Turbo has almost 48k miles by the way.
