replace light behind trip computer display/fuel pump replace cost 850

Any tricks, tips experience relating to replacing this light source behind trip computer, left side is dim, right side still lit and legible, LCD ok just backlighting out on one side.

#2 did i pay too much for fuel pump replacement? $540

Sacramento Volvo Service, not impressive customer service. No call when finished as promised, contents of storage compartments removed for repair, left strewn across back seats and rear compartment.
