Intermittent slight left pull on braking S70 1999

Not all the time, and not consistent in force, but makes me wonder what's going to happen next. Most noticed (99%) at low speeds: e.g., at stop signs. Occasionally, but not always, followed by slight pull in same direction when starting away from the stop. Any suggestions on what/how to check before putting it in the shop? TIA!
