Mann Oil Filters 850

The Mann filter is the OEM part, correct? How much do they usually run, and is it worth it to buy a case? BTW, I've asked about airfilters before and got very helpful responses, but the guy at my local parts store was trying to convince me to buy an STP filter rather than send out for a K&N, I didn't bite, anyone use these STP filters?
