Brakes - OEM or aftermarket rotors and pad? S40-V40

My '00 S40 has 20k miles and needs new pads and rotors (ouch!). I've read how Volvos go through brakes quickly. My question:

Should I replace the rotors and/or pads with aftermarket equipment or continue paying for OEM stuff every 20k.

In particular, does anybody have any experience with Zimmerman or Beck/Arnley rotors?
